We’re a quarter of the way through the 2024 college football season and it’s becoming clear which teams can make plans for the inaugural College Football Playoff and what squads can get ready for some second-tier (while still entertaining) bowl games.

There’s a clear hierarchy among the top teams in the country. A trio of teams so far has stood above all the rest.
